Unlock your potential with our counsellor

Kia Ora and Namaste!

This is Smruthi Shah. When you connect with her, along with speaking with a registered counsellor (with the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC) and Australian Counselling Association (level 4)), you can also expect to have a series of conversations with her (it is a process and depends on each individual as to how many conversations might be helpful) that are confidential and in a non -judgmental space where you can feel heard.

Smruthi is keen to embark on a journey with you towards a more fulfilling and balanced life for you so you can live your life in the most meaningful (to you) way aligned with your values as an individual/couple.

Experience:

Smruthi has been working with adults for over 9 years (since 2016 post her master's in Psychological Counselling) through various settings in New Zealand, Australia and India. She enjoys working with clients from various cultures and being a part of an individual/couple’s journey while they explore more about themselves and their relationships.

Sessions with her would look like:

These sessions would be online only. In the initial session, She would aim to get to know you and explore with you the challenges or specific areas of your life that you would like to discuss. In addition, she likes to explore what your values and goals are and which ones you might like to focus on for your sessions together so it can guide you while working through the counselling process.

You might reflect on different perspectives, discuss techniques, go through processing emotions, or reflect together on different aspects of the situation. This process can support you in healing, learning, and growing. It might include improving how you – connect with yourself, connect with others around you, understand yourself, be present, understand and explore aspects of your identity, learn to be comfortable with yourself and practice self-compassion, it could be opening up to emotions(even unpleasant ones so they don’t control you anymore), understanding their functions, and how to navigate emotions, healing from childhood trauma and much more.
